Make Time Tinker Clubs
What are Make Time Tinker Clubs?
The primary goal of Make Time Tinker Clubs is to provide instruction, tools and space for kids to explore a number of crafts, technology and creative techniques in a fun, stress free environment. Tinker clubs have a looser structure than our classes which allows students to apply new techniques they learn to projects that interest them. There is an emphasis on asking questions, pushing the boundaries of our knowledge and helping one another problem solve. A tinker club functions as a small community unlike a traditional class where each student is required to complete the same task. Students are encouraged to work together (with some guidance) to create projects that excite them and challenge them to use the new skills they learn.
Meeting Times & Days
Tinker Clubs meet twice a month on a weekend for two hours each session. The first hour is spent learning a new skill or technique, while the second hour is used to apply new skills or techniques to club member’s project(s).

At Make Time we game. Where else can you battle your pet monster against a friends? Or team up with your buddies and explore a dungeon looking for treasure? Delve into the wide, wonderful world of games. We will play games as well as make our own! Learn to play Dungeons & Dragons, Magic the Gathering, Descent, Pokemon, and many other games. Would you like to learn more about cutting and shaping wood, while making something that is both beautiful and functional? Learn how and when to use hand tools (and some power tools) such as drills, saws, clamps and routers to build your projects. Club members work at their own pace on projects that will teach them how to measure accurately, use hand tools safely and care for tools. It’s hands-on fun for those who love to build.
“Fiber” is a tiny word that encompasses a universe of arts and crafts. This club will explore many projects that revolve around using “fiber” to create. We’ll cover making felt, how to crochet, sewing, weaving (fabric and baskets), paper making and many other fiber arts.
Comicon is a blast. Cosplay, Costume Design, Anime/Manga, Comic Book Art, even LARP (Live Action Role Play - ie. fighting with foam swords!)...what’s not to love? We’re bringing the fun of Comicon to Make Time. This club will delve into the world of making costumes, telling stories with art, drawing Manga/Anime characters and much more!
